What American doesn’t crave a nice big juicy burger smothered in cheese, bacon, pickles, onion rings, Dr. Pepper bbq sauce, or even waffles… yes College Station has it all! There’s one thing we aren’t lacking and that’s burgers! With so many choices it’s easy to get led astray, but stick to these top 5 burger joints around A&M’s campus and you’re guaranteed a satisfied belly and heart!

The Dixie Chicken

The Dixie Chicken It wouldn’t be the greatest burger joint list of College Station if I didn’t start with the Dixie Chicken. Any Ol’ Ag will let you know that if you find yourself in College Station you are required to stop by the chicken for a beer and a burger. The wooden tables filled with elaborate (and some not so elaborate) carvings done by the customers set the perfect burger atmosphere. The Dixie Chicken has been around for 40 years and have kept and mastered their simple yet flavorful and authentic menu!

Grub Burger Bar

Grub Burger Bar CSTX

There was once a sad place in College Station that saw many restaurants come and go. For some reason everything that ever moved in didn’t last long. Little did College Station know that it was all part of the universe’s plan. Grub Burger Bar finally moved in and we’ve never looked back since! If you’re looking for unique, fun, and ABSOLUTELY delicious place, this is soon to be your favorite spot in town. Burgers of all kinds including healthy and vegetarian, Grub Burger Bar is sure to satisfy your every craving even ones you didn’t know you had. As if this place needed more, the burgers go awesome with a SPIKED milkshake! That’s right milkshake and alcohol all in one!

Mickey’s Sliders

Mickey's Sliders

Whether you catch the food truck rolling around town or head to their new location, Mickey’s Sliders will not disappoint! Their fun sliders provide a burger change of pace without compromising the amazing taste! All kinds of options including the famous Willie Nelson! Any burger named after Willie is guaranteed to make you happy. Next time you’re at First Friday in downtown Bryan be sure to keep a look out for the Mickey’s sliders truck!

Koppe Bridge Bar & Grill

Koppe Bridge Bar & Grill

Koppe Bridge is another College Station classic that has been around long enough to know exactly what they’re doing. When you’re craving a down home hearty burger, Koppe Bridge will hit the spot. Not only are they known for having “The Best Big Burger in Town,” but their fries are pretty awesome as well. Koppe Bridge was even recognized as a Top 10 Burger in the entire state of TEXAS! We all know how big Texas is so you might as well take advantage of having a delicacy right here in Aggieland!

Proudest Monkey

Proudest Monkey College Station

Proudest Monkey is one of the best places in town to eat, drink and have a great time in College Station. Here you’ll find the one of a kind chorizo burger patty with half beef and half chorizo sausage. It’s as good as it sounds. The wait staff is very friendly and they have plenty of TVs to catch all the games. You’ll also wan to grab a side (or two!) of their fries as you’ll want to try their dirty and yuppy fries. And don’t forget the monkey sauce.. a mayo based sauced that can go on everything.

Blackwater Draw Brewing Co.

Blackwater Draw Brewing Co College Station

Blackwater Draw Brewing Company might be known for their great craft beer (made in Aggieland!) But they also serve one of the better burgers in town. Located in Northgate with plenty of outdoor seating, Blackwater has a great ambiance and a friendly staff. But we are here to talk about their burgers. For those who like it your way, you’ll want the B.Y.O.B. (build your own burger). The premium ground beef comes on a sweet sourdough bun that goes perfect with any combination you get.

Honorable Mention – Whataburger

Whataburger

I wouldn’t be a Texan in I didn’t include Whataburger on a list of best burgers! I know there’s no need to explain further. If you are visiting Texas A&M you’ll notice a beautiful maroon stripe incorporated into the traditional orange and white Whataburger paint job. Us Aggies only tolerate the color orange if it means Whataburger!
