Your holiday can sparkle and shine with these beautiful Glittered Mason Jar Lanterns! Created by using a mason jar of any size, a heaping amount of glitter, and some sticky glue, Glittered Mason Jar Lanterns are sure to add the perfect touch to your front porch or backyard space this holiday season. It’s especially great if you have no outdoor electrical outlet available, allow you to keep pace with the Clark Griswolds of your neighborhood.

If you prefer to hibernate indoors from the harsh conditions of winter, then these lanterns make equally gorgeous nightstand décor, perfect for those nights spent reading a good book or binging Christmas movies. Just be sure to put it out before you go to sleep—whether it’s indoors or outdoors to prevent any fire hazard. Not to extinguish your Christmas spirit, but no one wants a ho-ho-holiday full of smoke.

Materials Needed:

Clean, empty mason jars

Glitter

Clear glue

1-inch flat artist’s brush

Spoon

Flameless candles

Instructions

  1. Use a 1-inch flat artist’s brush to apply clear glue to the inside of the jar. Brush the glue on heavier towards the bottom of the jar and lighter towards the top. Feather edges of the glue towards the top and leave about 1/4 of the top of jar free of glue.
  2. Immediately sprinkle glitter onto wet glue using a spoon. Roll the jar around to allow the glitter to coat all of the areas where the glue was applied. Pour excess glitter back into the container to be reused.
  3. When ready to use lanterns, insert the candles and light. Use outdoors in dry/clear weather or indoors. Never leave a candle unattended.

Snow-Covered Pinecones

You love the sound so much that sometimes you just step on them for the heck of it! But, why not do something more productive with nature’s gifts?

Get a little creative and incorporate these free objects into Snow-Covered Pinecones. Not only are they simple to make, but they also make for a simple, elegant centerpiece for your seasonally decorated dinner table.
