BEAUTIFUL BRIGHT MODERN 3 BED 2 BATH AVAILABLE 10/1. - Charming 3BR/2BA in Queen Village
This historic, well-maintained, and centrally-located 3BR/2BA home with ample outdoor space is ideal for a young family or professional couple. Pets are welcome!
Location
Our home is located on a quiet, tree-lined street with plenty of parking in close proximity to both Washington and Columbus Avenues. The neighborhood is very family-friendly: there’s a playground and pool just a few blocks away (Sacks Playground) and Second Street is a trick-or-treater’s paradise around Halloween.
Everything you could want is within a short walk; in fact, we never owned a car. Ginza Sushi and Ramen, Federal Donuts, Cake and Joe, Herman’s Coffee, Pennsport Beer Boutique, and Giant Supermarket are all within a five minutes’ walk. You can choose from two farmer’s markets: one at Head House Market (where there are also many more restaurants and bars) or another at Dickinson Square Park. In fact, there’s no shortage of greenspaces nearby, including Dickinson, Jefferson Square (with Sacks Playground), Herron Playground, Shot Tower Recreation Center, and Old Swedes Church, which has an amazing outdoor space for dogs.
House
This is a historic house with all of the modern amenities. The home has been thoroughly-renovated—and expanded—over the years. Today, it retains historic charm, including inlaid floors on the first level and an exposed fireplace on the third, with all the modern conveniences you could want, including keyless entry, central air/heat, modern appliances, Ring video doorbell, Nest thermostat, and even an integrated wine chiller. The home is wired for both fiber and cable, meaning that you can choose between Comcast and Fios – a rarity in this town.
Layout
The house is about 1,500 square feet, not including a large basement, or lockable side shelter suitable for trash, recycling, and bicycle storage. The main level includes the living room, dining room, three-piece bath, and kitchen. We recently renovated the kitchen with subway tile, Quartz countertops, and LVT flooring. You also will have your very own wine fridge. The second level has a large landing (suitable for a library), two bedrooms, and a newly-renovated three-piece bath. The second bedroom has a door that leads out to a deck overlooking the patio, installed last year. The top level is the third bedroom, which comes furnished with a Queen Bed (with integrated storage) and desk; it can easily also serve as an office.
Outdoor Living
This home features a large, full-sun patio with room for entertaining and maintaining a garden. While there’s plenty of room for you to make your own mark, the garden includes a mature Fig tree, grape vine, and Lemon tree start. The patio comes with three elevated Canadian Cedar raised beds, a rainwater garden, four Adirondack chairs, and integrated bistro-style lighting (which can be controlled remotely). The deck comes with a table, chairs, and umbrella.
