Have you ever felt like you have so much energy that it’s hard for others to keep up? Or maybe you enjoy new people, experiences, and places? Sometimes you may feel like you want to have an extensive, in-depth conversation, but the others around you just aren’t feeling that talkative. There’s nothing wrong any of this! It just means you’re an extrovert. Extroverts have lively personalities and are filled with so much vigor that some may even wish they could bottle it and sell it. Whenever anyone thinks of an extrovert, they think of someone who isn’t afraid to be the life of the party. And sure, you may be all about the good times, but there’s more to you than just that.

While it’s obvious to everyone you value time socializing as opposed to being alone, maybe you have never really considered how you could transfer that into an exciting, profitable career. This is why uCribs has put together a list of majors that might just heighten that innate excitement inside of you even more! Yes, we focused on introverts last week, but now it’s your time to shine (as always) young extroverts. Check out our list of The Top 4 College Majors for Extroverts.

Education

Do you remember the moments as a child when you would play school and someone was the teacher while everyone else was a student? If you were the teacher, then maybe it was a little more telling than you might have initially thought. As an extrovert, you are a natural born leader, which means that a career in education might just be perfect for you. Extroverts tend to make amazing teachers because they possess so many of the skills it takes to succeed in the field including the enjoyment of working with others, being a problem solver, and of course, their undeniable energy.

Being an education major opens you up to a world of opportunities. Not only can be a teacher, but you could also become a school principal or university dean if you prefer more of a leadership role. If empathy and compassion are you strong suit, you could also consider being a school counselor. So, if you find yourself interested in a career that keeps you on the go constantly, obtain your degree in education.

Hospitality and Tourism

Are you super organized, creative, and sociable? A degree in hospitality and tourism may just be the career path for you then. When you think of hospitality and tourism, your mind probably darts toward service industry jobs. Although service provides many fantastic career opportunities with the possibility to work your way up in your respective company, there are more options available in the field to provide you with a satisfying career that best suits your personality. If you’re more of the creative type, consider a career in event planning. Event planners tend to have a natural spark when it comes to their craft. They are confident in their networking abilities as well as resourceful and passionate—all traits that tend to come naturally to the extrovert.

However, if event planning isn’t for you, there are other options in the hospitality and tourism field such as hotel operations, casino management, or travel and tourism management. No matter which path you choose, you’ll be able to work a job that keeps you social, active, and full of ideas while really enjoying what you do.

Marketing

If you’re energetic and outgoing, end your search for the perfect college major by taking on the field of marketing! Now, you may be wondering what could possibly make marketing the perfect path for an extrovert, but it’s simple. Extroverts make ideal marketers because they gain energy through social interaction. Most marketing jobs such as in-person sales require that the employee be a self-starter that remains positive in tough customer interactions. This type of behavior comes easy to the extrovert because they are perceptive to the feelings of others.

Realistically, everyone wants a job where they can be their true self while getting the job done. That’s what makes marketing such a fun choice for extroverts. Whether you want to construct exciting marketing strategies for your company as a marketing strategist or present ideas to your clients as a public relations specialist, the sky is the limit. Plus, marketing is a highly collaborative field, allowing you to share and incubate ideas with your fellow team members. Not only can you gain satisfaction from this type of social interaction, but you can also consistently fuel your overall motivation, which is very important for anyone in the marketing field.

Nursing

Are you a team player, have a compassion for others, and consider yourself to have a good bedside manner? Nursing may just be the ideal degree program for you! Nurses are known for their charisma and a sense of empathy—two traits that extroverts normally possess. They are the perfect team player when it comes to working in fast-paced situations and relating to patients on a personal level.

Take a moment to imagine how it feels to put a smile on someone’s face when they feel at their lowest. It must be one of the best feelings in this world. The best part about becoming a nurse is that you aren’t limited to working in a doctor’s office or hospital. For example, if you love traveling, you could become a traveling nurse or a cruise ship nurse. As a travel nurse, you would work short-term assignments as a contract employee that would send you to places all over the country where your specialized skills are in demand.

Whether you want to stay close to home or explore the world at large, nursing is a great option for any extrovert, who enjoys connecting to others on a personal level. If you want to experience a fulfilling career that allows you many opportunities, nursing—or any of these other college majors— might just hold the key.
