This beautiful One-Bedroom Apartment was originally the living space for the owners of the Butcher's Shop it is attached to, that operated from 1919 until the mid 1960s, serving as one of the merchant shops for which the neighborhood is named. The Butcher's Shop was turned into a lovely three-story home, and the apartment is attached and can be totally sealed off from the rest of the home into an independent apartment with a separate entrance from the street.
The apartment has its very own living room, kitchen, and a bedroom upstairs with a washer/dryer in the apartment itself. There is also direct access to a large balcony that overlooks East Fairmount Avenue with plenty of space for relaxing and grilling in the Spring and Summer. Furthermore, the living room portion of the apartment is fully furnished, however, this can be removed to accommodate furniture you might bring yourself. The kitchen is small, but has been upgraded with all new stainless steel appliances. The apartment can be sealed off for totally separate living, or opened to gain access to the main kitchen and living room if necessary.
The apartment is located in Butchers Hill, a vibrant neighborhood within walking distance to Johns Hopkins, and shuttles to other Hopkins locations. You are two blocks from Patterson Park, and a longer walk to Fells Point and Canton. (Uber only takes 3 mins and costs $7 from this location to Fells and Canton Square). A new Argentinean steak house just opened a block down the street named La Burrita and its food is phenomenal.
Myself and another tenant live in the Butchers Shop portion of the home with two curious cats, Tesla and Charlotte, and a sweet dog named Audi.
